EXPLORING JALAN BESAR
The “Exploring Jalan Besar” Map captures the various businesses and communities that have sprung up around Singapore’s longest waterway, the Kallang River. It features old and new food, retail and experience establishments in the area.
The streets of Jalan Besar are a tapestry of both the old and new. Emerging businesses are woven in-between long-standing heritage establishments. Shophouses, temples and churches now occupy land once overgrown by mangrove trees and nipah palms.
